Translation prices

We try to keep our pricing as transparent and simple as possible for our customers. Our prices are open to all, but we are always happy to send you a non-binding and free quote once we have your data.

As a rule, the following prices apply to all translations, the deviation may only occur in the case of complicated scientific texts. The other reason for the higher price may be that the documents take much longer to process due to formatting. For example, in the case of drawings, formulas, etc.

Calculate the price of the translation yourself

You can quickly and easily calculate the final price of your translation yourself. This list already gives you an approximate price and you can compare our prices with those of other providers.

However, we always recommend that you send us an enquiry with the documents to be translated, as the price can vary enormously due to repetitions in the text. We carry out the text analysis with a CAT tool, usually SDL Trados, and then calculate the costs in an Excel spreadsheet, where you can see that we show the price to the cent. This is the only way to get the fair price. And because of repetitions, it is always lower than with a flat-rate estimate. The repetition rate is particularly high for technical translations, due to the special nature of technical texts.

Prices for standard applications

The price applies to translations in standard formats such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel. It is precisely in these formats that most translations are carried out.

Please enquire separately about the cost of translations in other formats such as AutoCAD, Framemaker, InDesign, QuarkXPress. The word price remains unchanged, but the time required differs depending on the programme or format. It is not possible to apply a word price for dwg drawings, as the translation in AutoCAD runs much slower than in Word.

Software
Counting method
MS Word   Word price or Trados analysis
MS Excel   Word price or Trados analysis
dwg, dxf   Hours
Adobe InDesign   Word price or Trados analysis + layout
Adobe Framemaker   Word price or Trados analysis + layout
QuarkXPress   Word price or Trados analysis + layout

By using CAT tools such as SDL Trados, Across and memoQ, your translations can cost significantly less, sometimes up to 90%. Ask us, we will be happy to advise you.

Prices for software localisation

Software localisation pricing also has its peculiarities. The biggest difference: when translating from software, you do not translate continuous text, but individual words. This is particularly time-consuming. In order to keep the price for the translator at the same level as for the translation of the documentation, we charge by the word, but the price per word is usually somewhat higher. In any case, please always request a quote!

Discounts for translations

Volume discounts are usually available for translations of 10 thousand words or more. There are exceptions, but we treat each case individually. We will be happy to discuss all details with you before starting any translation.
