SDL Trados 2021 in our office

The Alexxtec translation agency has been using the latest version of the well-known and popular CAT tool SDL Trados 2021 since September 2021. It offers users a number of innovations. Our German office is one of the first in Germany to try this out.

The innovation in version 2021 is Trados Live

The Studio desktop application is now not only available for the PC, as in all previous versions, but also as a cloud-based supplement to Trados Studio. It now enables seamless switching between PC, smartphone and tablet. Many project managers, including ours, missed this opportunity. Now it makes our work even more flexible.

If necessary, we can now switch our work to the cloud to manage the projects on any device, e.g. B. on a tablet - either via SDL Trados Live or the new mobile app for SDL Trados Live.

An annual subscription to Trados 2021 is also new

This innovation does not affect our translation agency because we only buy licenses for an unlimited period, but it could be of interest to some translators and translation agencies.

When purchasing an annual subscription to Studio 2021, the initial cost is often less than the cost of a perpetual license. However, with an annual subscription, the software does not become entirely yours, as with all loan items, and access is only granted for the duration of your subscription.
